The Operating Standard makes Excel and Word systems for trades, construction and contracting businesses: estimating, project commercial control, and the management basics that stop everything running through the owner.

Who's behind it

One operator, not an agency, with a background in Australian contracting across resources and construction. The brand is deliberately anonymous. The work should stand on what's in the files, not on a personal profile.

What that means for the files

The worked examples are built the way a real job runs. The estimating example prices a remote WA mining electrical scope: Perth–Newman flights, 185 mm² XLPE cable take-off, an HV jointing subcontract, productivity factors and remote allowances. Every worked example uses a fictional company, Northstar Trade Services, so you can see a full system filled in before you touch your own numbers.

What we don't do
